Gotta Catch Um All (Finale)

Hey Everybody!

Sorry for no post last Saturday, Kris and I were at Toronto Comicon. Thanks to everybody who swung by our booth and checked out our stuff. We had a great time and met a ton of cool people, but more on that later.

As you all know I’ve been slowly working through the original 151 Pokemon as daily doodles, and have finally come to the end. I want to say thanks to everyone who stuck around for the whole process and supported the pieces. So here it goes…

Hope you enjoyed those!

Now for Comicon goodness.

Above is a picture of our booth, look at how fancy it is. We had a great time meeting new and exciting folk and we will be at Fan Expo Toronto this summer (more information to come in the future) as well as some other cons.

I did a bunch of Yoshi prints, because Yoshi is rad.

One thing I always like to do at conventions is check out the other artists work in artist alley, so when I get a chance to get away from the table I go out into the wilds and buy stuff.

Lots of cool zines and comics this year as well as some postcards and an original sketch of Hellboy that is super cool. I also came across some really cool resin sculptures, which I will be painting up sometime in the future.

The convention was great but when I got home I immediately got sick, which I suppose is part of being around a ton of people. But the next day I received a cool package in the mail from one of my favourite artists Jake Parker.

The two books are “Inktober” and his newest art book “Drawings II”. Both are amazing books that you should definitely check out.

Also last week I wrapped up on the show I`ve been working on for the last year, Daniel Tiger`s Neighborhood. It was a great experience and gave me the opportunity to learn and work with a lot of super amazing people. I start my next project next week but just wanted to take a second to let you know what I`ve been up to.

Thanks for everybody who stuck it through this long winded post. See you all next week!

Fan Expo 2014

Hello everybody!

Kris Auger and myself will have a booth at FanExpo Toronto next week/weekend 28-31. We’re booth #335 in the artist alley, so make sure to swing by if you’re at the show.

Alongside some cool new prints I will have copies of my Game Items Zine which I think you’ll dig! Each zine comes with a random variant print of either the Dome or Helix Fossil (some contain both).

I also decided to do something new for business cards so I got a new design printed up on Tarot cards.

Last weekend I was at the Summer Comic Con in Windsor and that was a great time, thanks to everyone who swung by the booth and said hey. I will be returning to Windsor for the Christmas Comic Con on December 7th so if you’re in the area make sure you swing by as I will be releasing both Chapter 2 and 3 of Space Boy at that event.

A lot of people have been asking me about the hiatus on Super Space Boy Adventures, and I’ll talk about that here. Long story short, I’ve been really busy in the last 6 months starting a new job as well as other large personal projects. I have been working on Space Boy consistently throughout this time and was debating putting out the second book for the Summer Comic Con. I decided against this in an effort to make cooler items to be included in the special editions of the books which I think everyone will appreciate when they do get released. Pages will resume weekly updates on http://www.comics-that-exist.com starting September 10th and will update with 1 page every Wednesday. Chapter 2 and 3 are one continuous story so when the physical copies become available on December 7th there will only be 14 pages available online so the physical copies will get you very very far ahead vs the website.

Hopefully that answered any questions you have had about Space Boy, if you have any others give me a shout and I’ll let you know.

Also the first episodes of the show I’ve been working on have begun to air on PBS and they put my name in the credits, so that’s cool. Here’s a really blurry screengrab:

(Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, I’m bottom right)

So I guess that’s a pretty big update on everything, I’d like to say I’ll update this blog more frequently, but I guess we’ll see what happens.

Have a good one!

Christmas Comic Con

Hey everybody,

I want to thank everyone who came out to visit my booth at the Windsor Christmas Comic Con! It was a great turnout and I got to meet some pretty cool people. I debuted some cool new products like a zine compiling the 31 pieces I completed for Inktober, as well as the first chapter of my new comic Super Space Boy Adventures.

The quality of the books turned out really well and I was happy with them.

I also created a limited series of prints to commemorate the release of Chapter 1 of Super Space Boy Adventures, so that was pretty exciting for me.

Space Boy will be starting online with 3 pages a week on January 1st, 2013, and http://www.comics-that-exist.com. But if you’re interested in picking up a physical copy you can hunt me down at a con (Toronto Comic Con December 15th) or wait till I figure out a online store situation. I am also looking into making digital copies available, more information on this will come when I have it all worked out.

Thank you again for everyone who came by and checked out my work, I really appreciate it, and if you picked up a copy of Space Boy let me know what you thought!
