Days 20-24 of the Palette challenge only 6 more to go. Started this batch off feeling pretty uninspired but feel like it came around around day 23. On another side note I will not have my new animated short Sunflare up this week, I’ll post updates as I have them.
So this will be 17-19 of the 30 day challenge. Less than two weeks left. Time flies when you’re painting monsters and robots.
So I’m really trying to improve my painting with these things because after this challenge I think I’ll try something similar but with limited rules for character design or something, also I’m envious of people with wicked painting skills.
Today I opened my mail to find my copy of ‘Wanderer’ by Cynthia Liu. It is an awesome ‘art of’ style book from a wicked cool artist.

And now for some updates on my work. Well I’ve got days 13-16 of the Palette challenge I’ve been working on.
So that means I am past that half-way point with this challenge which is pretty exciting.
And in terms of progress updates on my animated projects. I am editing the audio for Sunflare so that project is about 15% done. And I’ve got a handful of other shorts in very early production stages (scripts, casting for voice-over). I’m hoping to have Sunflare done sometime next week.
Earlier today I was talking to my printer about getting physical copies of Super Space Boy Adventures for fanexpo and it looks like that will be a thing, more details to follow.
Lastly if you have any requests for prints let me know, I will have many new selections at this years fan expo, and I’m looking into starting an online store.
Hello everybody,
So continuing with the theme of the posts lately here are a few more days of the palette challenge I’ve been doing. I’ve been trying more blending now rather than just using the colours provided (probably should have thought of that earlier, but the point of these things is to learn). So I’ve been doing a lot of monsters which I find a fun subject to work with. Aside from Retro Randy which just had me feeling nostalgic (I’ve been recording footage of some old Gameboy games for commentary purposes).
For those of you who have been waiting for a new animated short after High Hopes, I have semi-good news, I’m in the middle of working on a new short (among several others in early development) so that is exciting. Today I was with some friends who were lending their voice talents to the current project and I ended up doing a little doodle of a yeti.
